Natural disasters

Here is my story about what we have been doing in room 8. Yesterday we made a science experiment and here is my story about it please enjoy and feel free to comment below.

On Thursday 26th October room 8 made a science experiment. We did it outside of room 1.We were learning about natural disasters and so we did a science experiment on it. We made explosions and we also made a volcano and made this type of foam out of vinegar, dish washing liquid and baking soda.

First we went outside and sat in a big circle. Then Miss Morrison added the ingredients in the bottle and put the volcano that Hamish made on top of it and the foam came out and everyone was really amazed.Secondly it started to rain so everyone went under room 1 and got into groups. I was with Carra and Dwyane. Each group got a bag of vinegar and Miss came around pouring in one spoon of baking soda.I felt very scared because I had to close the bag fast after Miss put the baking soda in.The explosion looked awesome.

We did two more explosions as a whole class then we went back up stairs. Then Miss Morrison showed us how a Tsunami would looks like. A tsunami is actually caused by a earthquake under the water. It was really cool and funny because Miss Morrison poured a lot of water out so that she can show us how it would look like.We learnt about tectonic plates and about different positions they can be in and they are  converge, diverge and transform. All those different positions of the tectonic plates are used for making volcano's, mountains, cracks, lakes and earths quakes. It was really fun and entertaining to learn about these things.
