Sailor of the South Pacific
Here is the work I have done based on the book we have been reading about:
Imagine being on a canoe with dozens of people for weeks. What would make it hard? The canoe might not be strong enough and they can only take as much food as they can.
What would make it easier? They will have enough help to help them on sea. What would be the biggest challenge? The biggest challenge would be feeding a lot of people.
Why did Polynesian decide to explore the rest of the Pacific? To discover the different island of the pacific.
Discuss some of the challengers that early navigators will have experienced? Some of the boats would start to debris and they only called have a certain amount of food on the boat and also they called only drank rain water that they caught in a bucket when it was raining.
What kind of skills did navigators need?Navigator needed to be able to discover how to be able to use the star, sun, waves and birds to help them navigate themselves to were there destination is.
If you were a sailor, would you prefer to sail on cloudy days or at night? I would prefer to go sailing at night because I understand how to get somewhere using stars, more than I do with the clouds and the sun.
