Tsunami

Tsunami definition

A Tsunami is when there is a big wave that comes crashing into land and they can be up to 100 metres tall.

Tsunami Causes

 The cause of a Tsunami is when big pieces of the Earth’s pieces called ‘Tectonic Plates’ suddenly shift. When these ‘Tectonic Plates’ shift, they usually grind together. But sometimes, the plates get stuck. As they get stuck, the pressure builds. When the pressure builds, they suddenly crash into a new position! As the Ocean floor moves, it creates massive holes, that is when the water fills up these holes. After that, the water begins to move quickly making huge waves. That is how Tsunamis are made. A Tsunami can swallow up islands in minutes. 

Tsunami Effects

 They can damage buildings and properties. Causes pollution by making everything like rubbish,dirt,building parts and etc to go everywhere which cause pollution.

The challenging thing I found about this was trying to find the key points in our text.
The thing I found that I enjoyed was being about to work in a group and communicate with others in my class.

WALT: Play Games to be able to connect with our Maths

Today we have been doing Maths. For Maths we have been looking for activities to do that will help us on our Maths since some of us still need some improvements in our Maths. For my Maths activity I was in a group with Grace,Hevani,Lydia and Edith the game we played was helping us in our decimals. To play the game we will each have a card and the person who will start would be anyone and that was Edith and what she would do is say like "I have 14" and then she would say "Who has  1.4+1.4" and then the person who has the answer would reply it was really cool and think it really helped me in my decimals.

The thing I found challenging was when I tried to answer without any help, but then the girls in my group would just shout out the answer. The thing I enjoyed most is doing Maths because I think Maths is really enjoyable.

WALT: Research about natural disasters

  NATURAL DISASTERS 

Today we have been researching about natural disasters. The natural disaster that I have been researching about is sinkholes.

Sinkholes happen commonly is America, the place in America that have sinkholes happen commonly is Florida, Texas, Alabama, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee and pennsylvania. Sinkholes are normally caused when there is a change in the land's surface or when there are heavy things placed on top of the soft soil, that can also be a cause of the land collapse - The information that causes sinkholes to happen are also why they happen.

As you see this sinkholes you can see how deep it can be and how it on a road so people who were driving on the road would have died from the sink holes.

LAST NIGHT

Hello and good morning to you all, Today I am going to be blogging about what I did last night. Last night it was really scary because there was a power cut, The whole street got a power cut and it was scary from how dark it was inside, it was also scary because outside was even lighter than the inside of our house. The power just cut of when my brother went to sleep and I was playing on his Xbox. I was quite angry because I just got a turn on my brothers Xbox and then the power cut so I couldn't play.

When the power cut out I stayed outside in the garage with my dad doing some boxing and punching the punching bag. I was so tired but I thought this was better then going inside in the pitch black and only having my mum's phone as the light.

Later on in the night when the power still wasn't on, me and my mum and my sister went to buy some dinner and hopefully when we came back the power would be on. As soon as we were getting my dad's food my sister texted my mum and said the powers back on and I was relieved because I didn't want to be eating dinner in the dark.

The thing I enjoyed the most about last night is that I got to eat my dinner in the light and not in pitch blackness and the thing I found most challenging was when I tried to go sleep in the pitch black while the power cut which was still off. Knowing that the closet was open because my sister didn't close when she was supposed to was more terrifying. The thing I would have done differently next time is bring a blanket outside next time because how freezing it was and also I should had never yelled a lot when I was looking at the stars because I think I was quite annoying to the neighbourhood.

My First Blog Reflection For Term 3 2018

In the holiday me and my family went out shopping. Going shopping was fun because all the nice clothes look nice but I only brought a pair of shoes because I hate to go here and there and trying to keep up where ever my family is going. We also went to the dunkirk park which was really fun and I hope to go another time. The dunkirk park has a gone different from the last time I saw it. The last time I saw the dunkirk park it had 2 baby swings and 2 swing for older kids and it also had some slides and a monkey bar but now the dunkirk park has 5 swings, 2 for babies,2 for older kids and a bigger swing that could hold 5 people (I think). 

The thing I'm looking forward for Term 3 2018 is going to the museum and having boxing for kiwi sports. I am looking forward to these activities is because first of all I have ever been to a museum and I wonder if there is actually a statue in a museum made out of an extinct dinosaur bones and secondly I have done boxing before and I am excited to see what this boxing teacher is going to teach us today, The reason why I'm excited is because I only had one teaching in my life who has ever taught me boxing and that is my dad, My is probably one of the most powerfullest man I've ever meet and also my dad says I have a powerful punch as well.

The thing I am wanting to improve on this term is showing more whanaungatanga and building more relationships with others in the classroom. I want to build more relationships with others in the classroom because I think that making stronger relationships with my fellow class mates is good because most of the time I argue with them for no reason and I think that building positive relationships will help stop us from arguing (It's mostly with the boys).

The thing I enjoyed was about the holidays is being able to have father and daughter bonding time because sometimes me and my dad would sneak outside by ourselves and go for drive and sometimes go to my uncle's house and sometimes will just go outside to the garage and do punches on the boxing bag my dad has in the garage.        

The thing I found challenging is missing my friends and trying to see  what there up to but it was hard because I didn't have my netbook and when I saw my friends today they said that they sent a mail to my sister because my sister has her netbook and my sister mew she didn't tell.
