Ako evening

Yesterday we had  Ako evening  and for Ako evening we had performances that showed different
myths and legends that caused natural disasters in the islands. The different Islands were Samoa, Fiji,Niue,Tonga,Cook islands and New Zealand. The group I performed in was the Cook Island group, for our group we performed the legend of the battle between Chief of Raiatea and Chief of Rarotonga.

would try and be more confident when saying my lines and I think next time I will try and project my voice so that everyone can hear me not just the people that are near me.

The thing I enjoyed about the Ako evening was being able to show my mum the different types of things that I have been learning about in school. We learnt about the different natural disasters that happened in the South Pacific Islands

Verbs and Adverbs

WALT: Find the difference between a verb and a adverb

Image result for verbs and adverbsVerbs and adverbs verbs are similar but in there own different way. A verb are action and doing words, They tell you what type of action you should be doing like for example: Mix The bowl. The word mix is a verb because it's telling you what to do.For adverbs are like verbs but it's explaining the way to use the verb like for example: Mix the bowl slowly. when you see the example it tells you to the verb and the adverb, The verb is the word mix because it's telling you to do a type of action and the adverb is the word slowly because it's telling you how to mix in the bowl.
Adverbs and verbs are usually used in procedural writing like receipts and manuals.

Poem

Today I am blogging about my poem that I have done on tornadoes for our topic on natural disasters.

When I was doing my poem it was kind of hard when trying to find rhymes and different figurative language that would fit in my poem. Here is my poem that I made, it not that good but at the same time it's not so bad. Here is the LINK to my poem.
When we finished doing our poems we had to put it on a screencastify and make the video show our poems with our voice saying our poems in the backgrounds.

Here is my screencastify on me reading my poem with expression:

Pepeha

For the Maori language week yesterday we did our pepeha, which is when we introduce ourselves in Maori.
When we were writing our pepeha we had to write where we came from, what's our name, what our parents name and others.
When we were doing pepeha we had to do it on paper then put it on a DLO.
My DLO I created had a Maori pattern which I thought looked nice to add in my DLO.
Here is the LINK to my DLO that I have created.
When we did our pepeha on our DLO we had to upload it on a video.
Here is my LINK to the video I have made, it might have some people talking in the background that's why I tried to project my voice in the video so it can be loud enough.
IALT: blog about my reflection on our pepeha yesterday

Maths

WALT: Add and Subtract fractions with the denominator.

We were learning to add and subtract different types of fractions.

When we were adding and subtracting the fractions we had to also convert the fraction into a mixed fraction if it was a improper fraction.

This is one of the fractions the we had to add (Tip: When adding fractions, if the denominator is the same that means you don't add it because the denominator cannot be added or subtracted). When I added it I got 7/5, when you have a fraction and the numerator is bigger than the denominator then it is called a improper fraction and when you have a improper fraction you can convert it by seeing how much the denominator goes into the numerator and the denominator only goes into the numerator once in 7/5 so that means there would be 1 whole and from how much is left will be how many fifths is there so that means the mixed fraction would be 1 whole and 2/5.

Question for you:

Do you understand fractions?

Do you like fractions?
From 1-10 do you like maths?
