Maths

For maths we have been looking at how to convert a improper fraction into a mixed fraction and we have also been taking mixed fractions and converting it in a improper fraction. A improper fraction is when the numerator is bigger than the denominator and a mixed fraction is when there are wholes and pieces of fractions together.

What I enjoyed about Maths is getting to convert the fractions and also to be able to understand the different type of methods other students use.

What I found challenging is trying to convert the mixed fraction into a improper fraction mosley if the mixed fraction had uneven numbers.

Writing

For writing we have been learning about poetic writing and for our poetic writing we are making poems related to our natural disaster topic.

My natural disaster topic is tornadoes. For our poetic writing we are going to be using stanzas which are paragraphs but for poetic writing. When we do the poetic writing we work as a group to make one together in my group there is:

Music

Today the year sevens got to go and have music session with Caleb our music teacher. We started with a warm up that I won and Mason and we also had another game were Caleb would see who is the fastest at playing the note and I won on that too but others were good.

What I enjoyed was getting to play the guitar, The reason why I am happy is because I play bass in the band and the only reason why I can play bass is because I learnt how to play the guitar, and the guitar is a similar instrument to the bass and so that's why I wanted to play bass.

The thing I found challenging was having to change notes fast enough to beat the others.

Museum trip day 2

Today the kia manawanui went to the Auckland museum again and today we were making different type of films of presentations to show our learning on natural disasters, we also had to use the different technology and apps we learnt from yesterday's museum trip.

 I would recommend using stop motion to make films and that because it's been really helpful to me 

For today's lesson we had to get back into our buddies that we had yesterday and get the plans that we also did yesterday.

The thing I found challenging was using the stop motion. The thing I enjoyed was getting to see a giant squid and also being to learn about.

When doing a stop motion make sure to use steady movement.

Make sure to always have a plan so you know what type of material and fabric you might need doing a stop motion.

Musuem trip

Today the kia manawanui syndicate group 2 went to the museum today. When we went to the museum we learnt about the many different volcanic eruption and we went into a house that had a pretend news talking about a volcanic eruption that going to happen and the house was shaking like it would be when there is a eruption happening and there was also a rock figure of a person crouched  down. It was in rock because it was one of those people who was killed by the lava flow in italy. We learnt how to use different types of technology like tinkercade, 3D painting (on a computer), stop motion and we also learnt how to use a virtual reality.

I enjoyed playing with the virtual reality and being able to see the different places and draw in the air with the virtual reality. The thing I found difficult was trying to work with the different technology for the first time.

Kiwisports-Boxing

Boxing

IALT:

On Monday the 6th of August we were doing kiwi sports and for kiwisports we did boxing for boxing we learnt how to do a left and a right hook and we also learnt how to do a left and right uppercut. We also reflected on what we did last week and we did a cross and a jab last week and when we learnt the new moves we had to put it in a combo and it it went like 

jab,cross,left hook,right hook,left uppercut and then right uppercut.

The combo was easy when other students went slow but when we went fast the challenge started to begin. I thought it was not that hard but others did so it was alright.

The thing I enjoyed about boxing is having to learn more moves and what I thought was challenging was when we tried to do the moves faster than I thought but it was okay.

Technology

Technology

Tomorrow we are going to be having technology. I have been missing technology for last few weeks because how we didn't have technology for the other weeks and I really want to go back.

My technology group has been working hard material. For hard material my group is making necklaces for someone or for ourselves. My necklace is for my aunty and I made her a cross so that I can put on her grave as she has passed away but I was also thinking of making a love heart for my dad since my dad is my favourite parent out of my mum and my dad but I still love my mum.

The thing I have enjoyed about technology is being able to make necklaces which is very cool and the thing I found challenging was trying to make my necklace balanced and also trying to use the tools.

The thing I have to work is being able to not talk and to work on doing it individually.
