😝2018 😝-Reflection

WALT: reflect on what we have enjoyed and done this year.

3 words to describe this year is amazing, brilliant and fantastic, I pick these three words because throughout the year we have had great moments together with the year 8’s and we had amazing events that have came up this year that I really enjoyed.

My greatest achievement this year is being in band. In the band the instrument I play is the bass guitar in the band and I think it’s the greatest achievement of mine because not everyone knows how to play the bass guitar and I think it’s amazing I know how to play a instrument like that.

The things I have learnt about myself this year is being able to interact and build relationships with the year 8 (Mostly the girls) and being able to make lots of memories with the graduating students and my best friends this year.

The new skills that I have learnt is being able to play bass guitar and knowing that I can achieve lots throughout this year.

The 5 people I have enjoyed spending time with this year is:

Akanesi:

I have enjoyed spending time with Akanesi because to me she is like a older sister and she is mature and kind and she has taught me many things about myself. I am lucky to have Akanesi

Cerenity:
I have enjoyed spending with my sister Cerenity because she has helped me to improve with my self confidence and she is a really kind and funny friend and I am lucky to have her as a friend.
Leilani:
I have enjoyed spending time with my friend Leilani because she has really taught me to be proud of who I am and Leilani is the one who got me into burning my hair up and I am really lucky to have her in my life.
Kensington:
I have enjoyed spending time with kensington because he has really taught me how tough I am and I have really enjoyed to have him in my life and wish he doesn't graduate.
Lydia:
I have enjoyed spending time with lydia this year because she has been a great friend and without her I would never be as confident as I am now, I am happy to have her as inspiration to me.

These people have put a big impact on me, They make me feel like I'm someone when I walk in class and they make me feel amazing about myself. I happy to have them in my life.

Dine and Dance

IALT: blog about the dine and dance

Me and my friends at dine and dance.

On Wednesday the 5th of December  the kia manawanui had a dine and dance, which was amazing. The dine and dance was being held in the TPS hall. The year 8's came at 6:00pm and went for the dining part and ate and then the year 7's came at 7:30pm and went for the dancing part which was amazing and extremely fun. We did a lot of different dance moves which was amazing and I think the best dance moves was from Toma,Leilani and constance.  I enjoyed dancing with my friend and being able to spend time with the year 8's that are leaving and what I found challenging is trying to dance in heels which are annoying and sore.

Free style writing✏

WALT: Freestyle write about and image

Today our teacher asked us to write a story about a picture. This what I wrote. Tell me what you think in the comments below.

The wind rushed through her hair as she descended the mountain at great speed. For most children this will be an exhilarating, even terrifying experience, but for lucy it was an ordinary journey to school…

Lucy’s house was in a humongous forest and her house was built upon giant bugs. Her house is like no other house. Her house was filled amazing animals and birds just outside the forest were she lives in is a tropical beach.

Lucy’s school is filled with extraordinary pictures she is a year 11 and is born with the most smartest abilities. She has moved a lot of year levels and is filled

Her school is not similar from mine, I think she learns about way different things from me and I think she was the one who made the zip line for herself to travel to school.

This girl feels fine like as if it was a nice ordinary walk to school but instead she’s traveling by zip line, I think she feels relaxed and unstressed. The wind was roaring in her air as she swooshed through the forest on her zip line.

Remember to comment below and give me feedback and feedforward.
The picture we used to freestyle write was this picture....
You could have a try and write a freestyle writing on this picture or your own picture.

Writing

WALA: the importance of forming an opinion
Today we were discussing about debating and having a persuasive argument. We all have different opinions and I think it's important to express our opinions or beliefs with other to make them believe or agree with you and what you are arguing about.

We had been given different types of statements were some of us agreed and some of us disagreed with others with the statement. One of the statements were "should it be compulsory that everyone should learn Te Reo Maori.

I disagree with this statement because I think it should be optional of what language we want to talk. New Zealand  has a lot of different cultures here and we are not forced to speak Maori as soon as we stand foot on New Zealand. In the other countries you are not forced to speak their language so why be forced to speak Maori here.
If you have a different opinion feel free to comment below.

Reading

WALT: use analysing skill to identify the key ideas in the text.

Today we have been working on our analysing skills to use it so that we can improve in our reading skills and identifying the key ideas in the text. We have been working on a text called turning old into new and it's about learning where to but your rubbish and how the rubbish system goes and things like that. I have learnt from this text that our rubbish that we through away goes into big  and humongous pit's which then and buried and are called landfills.

I have also learnt that a company in England uses old chewing gum and designs sneakers and mobile phone covers. I think that's creative and disgusting at the same time because using old chewing gum is disgusting but being able to make things like shoes is amazing. We were learning about things that are renewable and non-renewable. Non-renewable means something that has been used that cannot be used again and renewable means being able to re use something old or used and recreate into something else or being able to use it again.

Reading - Innovation/Inquiry- Design for good. 📘📕

WALA: an article called design for good.

This week we have been learning about an article which is based on innovating and how these men have been innovating on a trap that will kill the pest in New Zealand, so that they won't be able to kill our native animals of New Zealand.

We have many different animals in New Zealand, such as the kiwi, tui, possums, stoats, kiore and etc. In the article it talks about the native bush and by the native bush it is talking about our forests and the places were our native animals live in the bushes. It is important to look after the New zealand bushes because that is a home to all our native animals and if there are pest in our country then that shows that our native animals have a chance to be endangered in the future because how the pest kill them. The people who are responsible for this is the people who live in NZ because if we young people grow up and there are still no change because how we had a responsibility there will be a chance of our future kids of not being able to see the native animals of NZ. Some of the pest were brought into NZ such as the deer, they were brought for sport and possums and ferrets were brought in for their fur and there was one pest how came as a stowaway because how it snuke onto the boats and they were rats or kiores.

Here are 3 animals who were introduced to our country.
Stoats are one of the dangerous pest in New Zealand because they are able to swim and climb tree which means that they are able t climb to birds nest and they can creep up to ducks in the water. We value some animals more then others such as the kiwi, We value the kiwi more then other animals because they are our native

Technology

IALT: blog about what I did at technology.

Today at technology we learnt how to make brownies with our buddies. My buddie for technology was Kensington, Kensington is great to work with and he has a lot of skills with cooking.

I enjoyed eating the brownies at technology and also working and building strong relationships with my buddie Kensington. What I found challenging was trying to understand the ingredients on the board but with the help of my buddie we got through in the end.
Here is me and my buddies brownie we made which didn't taste really nice to me.

Thinking about Bias

IALT: blog about Bias.

Today we were learning about bias, We got shown a picture of a the nutrition's facts from 2 different M&M's. We had to say what we noticed, saw, felt and wonder about the things that we given to us on the piece of paper.

We got another piece of paper which then gave a statement on the first paper above.
The source was: Mrs Sweet Tooth.
In this statement, it was talking about how amazing M&M's are. Some people agreed because and some people disagreed because they had better treats. There was also a part where it was talking about how M&M's are healthy because it has no trans fat in it, and because how colourful it is show that shows that it's healthy. I disagreed with that statement because even if M&M's had no trans fat it also had sugars, sodium's and carbohydrates.

We got a chart which then we used to depend how good it was and it was bias.
If there was something with high bias in it it means it had less evidence and information about something and so then we didn't understand and something with low bias is what we used to tell if it has a high amount of  information and evidence to to what it's talking about.

Athletics Day

IALT: blog about what we did on Friday for athletics.

On Friday the 16th of November had our very own TPS athletics day. It was Nice and sunny we all had a amazing time.

The athletics day was being held at the TPS field were we had all shorts of games like SHot put, long jump, standing jump, disscuss, other games. We also had races and relays between each house. The different houses that were there was Tripoli,Alamein,Benghazi and Tobruk, The different houses had different colours:
Tripoli was: BLUE
Benghazing was: Green
Alamein was: yellow
&
Tobruk was: Red.

The athletics day was amazing there families that came over and had picnics, We also got to have free sausages and ice-blocks which were yummy and tasty. The best part of my day at athletics was the races which were really challenging but I still tried, The were different type of races. There was a 50m race, a 75m race, a 100m race and a 400m race.

Each house got to do face paint which was cool and we also got to paint on other things like our arms, our shirts and our hands. I painted my whole face and then I put a mask on  to cover my eye lids which I didn't paint. When I went out side we were told to put on sunblock but I already had paint so I just left it.

I thought everyone there showed a lot of sportsmanship to everyone mostly when Benghazi one, The other houses were mad but I could tell they were trying to stay as positive as they could be. At the end each house got to say there chant out loud so that everyone could here them, We each got to do it one by one and the chants I loved the best was Tripoli's chant which I think really thought was great, even though we won't the loudest we still tried our best and a massive THANK YOU! to Grace because she really stepped up when Tripoli was doing there chant, she really gave her all and she leaded most of the chants. I will also like to say THANK YOU to Edith because here brother got really tired during the 400 metre race she ran next to him to support him and I thought she showed real good Manaakitanga.

The winners for the Athletics day was:
Benghazi!
congragulations benghazi on your win, They were the best teams out of all the teams,
They also one in the chants for thier house, so congratulations.
Here is the winnings team chant.

Here is Miss Ashley and room 7 in there different colours for there houses.

Here the filed at Tamaki primary school which looks like a thousand miles.

Predator free

IALT: blog about what I have just done
Today a lady called Miss Treena came in to teach us about pests. She was talking to us about the predator free group which is trying to make New Zealand predator free by 2020. We learnt about how others having their own opinions to pest and we also had a argumentation to show our different opinions to the topic. We were given a statement by a person called "Nature Watcher" and we had to give our feedback to nature watcher's statement.

Nature watchers statement was " Animals that are called "pest" by the predator free group should be shown more respect."

This was my opinion:

I strongly disagree with nature watcher because we should not be showing respect to pests who will give us a chance of making our native animals endangered in the future and also pests are like murders to our animals and we should not be treating threats to our native animals with respect.
Pest are not things we should be thankful to have since our native New Zealand animals are being killed by them. Pest are killing millions of our native animals each year and it should be noticed so that we can help save our native animals for the future.

I enjoyed being able to put my own opinion and also getting to see other peoples opinion.
The thing I found challenging was trying get enough details to put in my opinion.

Today at technology I enjoyed eating the delicious food with my buddie and also cooking the food.
The thing I found challenging was trying to measure it because I mostly look at others to check if I'm doing the right thing but know everyone was doing something different from others.

Image result for www.manaiakalaniToday the whole school went to the sylvia park cinemas and we got to watch the different types of movies that each class have made  and also what the other schools classes have made. The thing I have enjoyed the most was being able to watch not only Tamaki primary's movies but also other schools videos.

When we had to got ready to go to the cinemas we had to get into buddies with our buddy class. My buddy was Sosaia in room 4. I really enjoyed having him as a buddie mostly because he was good and listened very carefully to instructions I told him and he did it. The Manaiakalani was amazing and learnt many things there, I actually learnt that it was the 11th Manaiakalani being held.

MATHS

WALT: Read decimals to three places.

Image result for MathsI learnt how to put a decimal from greatest to lowest and I also learnt to put decimals in the right place value. The thing I learnt about the most is telling how to tell the decimals from greatest to lowest but with word problems.

What I enjoyed about learning about decimals is when I challenged myself to try and do word problems which is more difficult to me then number problems because with decimals I can't really tell which number is the biggest and which is the lowest because it was word problems and not number problems which was much harder but I like to challenge myself.

SC: I can read decimals to three places.

SC: I can explain the value of the number.

I enjoyed doing decimals because even though it's hard I still like to challenge myself.

What is Technology?

IALT: blog about what I have learnt about in technology

Image result for technologyThere are different types of technology that we use everyday, like for example nurses and doctors use medical technology which helps through out there work, for example when they use stethoscopes that's a type of medical technology. There is another type of technology called electronic technology, electronic technology is like microphones, laptops and a T.V. Electronic is something we kind of use every day on a daily basis.

Something I use nearly daily is mhy T.V ad the Ipad. The two different technology that I use everyday are both electronic technology they help me and my family because they entertain us and they help us on what's happens in the world.

I'm not sure on what I should improve on in the particular type of technology I use.

I could try and use different types of technology that would help me more in my daily basis.

This type of technology improves my way of living by making it ore easier instead of getting stuff of the news paper we could just use the T.V.

It improves living because it make it more faster and we get more entertainment faster because how we have apps now, like youtube were we can get entertainment and ourselves if were bored and there are also like game apps that we use to also help get, to use to entertain ourselves and sometimes learn because some games involve solving problems and etc.

1st Term 4 blog post

Image result for term 4IALT: Blog about My first day of Term 4 2018

Good morning today is the first day of Term 4. In the holidays from Term 3, I enjoyed celebrating my birthday on October 10th and it was amazing because I finally turned 12 years old. I also enjoyed celebrating my cousins birthday because there was yummy food and we also got to hang out with my other cousin from Tonga.

I'm looking forward to learning about the new topic this terms which I think are based on digital invention. I always liked looking at inventors and their inventions and I always thought I could invent something in the future.

I'm was also looking forward to going on the school trips and what terms 4 has ahead of us. The only thing I'm worried about is the test that we are going to be having, I hope I get a good grade so that I can live up to my inspiration which is my cousin.
